As part of our Circus-themed Luton Lights ’26 project, we’re inviting families and community members to a free, fun craft workshop at Luton Library.

Get creative in a stop-motion workshop with artist Hannah Whittaker, and help design bright, Circus Glow Art with Xtina Lamb. The artwork created during the session will become part of a larger art installation, which will appear in shops and home windows along Luton Road throughout February.

Let’s brighten the dark winter months by transforming Luton into a glowing circus-themed light experience!

No booking required – just turn up!

More details below…

Stop Motion with Hannah

Choose a circus performer from jugglers and tightrope walkers to gymnasts, and draw your own character over an animation template. When your drawings are scanned, they’ll spring into motion and become part of a large collaborative animation, to be showcased in a local shop window.

Circus Glow Art with Xtina

Help us to create large-scale glowing lanterns and artworks.  We’ll be collaging and creating colourful circus-themed decorations together using tissue paper, drawings and neon stickers. All materials will be provided.

This project is funded by Medway Council UKSPF.
