This summer, Ideas Test took over Rochester Cathedral as part of Art on the Delta, and invited everyone to take a breath – bringing an extraordinary mix of immersive art, music, dance, performance, workshops and playful creativity to the heart of Medway.

From the mesmerising digital installation More Than Human by The Tom Dale Company, to beatboxing with world champion Ruper Oldridge (The Bass6), live looping with Suboptimal, and the infectious energy of Elementz’ The Cypher, there was something for everyone.

Visitors could slow things down with David Willis’ Drawing Breath, experience the powerful combination of spoken word, song and organ in Dan Samsa’s SPIRITUS, and meet the wonderfully eccentric Margot Frogtain, brought to life by performer Tamzen Moulding, for a day of ballet, clowning and acrobatics.

There were also opportunities for audiences to get involved through creative workshops, movement and hands-on activities – making the week as much about participation as performance.

Art on the Delta: Take a Breath was about experiencing art in an unexpected place, bringing people together and seeing what happens when creativity takes over.
