A mission of The Department of Nocturnal Affairs (DoNA)
The A2 connects us, but it rarely reflects us. The Department of Nocturnal Affairs (DoNA) wants to change that by using the one thing only you possess: your dreams.
DoNA is currently on a vital mission to build a brand-new Dream Highway along the A2. Because dreams are made entirely of thoughts, they offer no friction—meaning a highway resurfaced with our collective nighttime visions will ease congestion and lower pollution!
We aren’t looking for “hopes for the future.” We want the vivid, strange, and beautiful stories from your actual nighttime dreams to help us build this new infrastructure. Join us to help shape the landscape of the A2 and turn a road we simply “use” into a living gallery of our collective imagination.
How to Get Involved
- Call the Dreamline: Call, text, WhatsApp, or leave a voice message at 07883 407086 to record and deliver your dream. Your contribution will directly inspire a new audio landscape of the A2, working with audio artist Fin Kennedy of Applied Stories to turn your dream into a new pin on our interactive map. (Phoneline opening July 2026)
- Spot our roaming Dream-Weavers: Keep an eye out for DoNA’s official Dream-Weavers. Suited, booted, and full of mystical curiosity, they will be roaming local events to gather raw dream materials directly from the public.
- Join the DoNA Weekend Lie-In: We are running free one-hour workshops across the region. Perfect for anyone looking for community connection, you’ll be treated to a gentle guided meditation (lying down, pillows provided), a dream-journaling session, with tea and chat afterwards.
Bring a free 1 hr Lie-In or slumber party to your community
Would your community group, care home, or organisation love to host a DoNA session? We would love to bring the pillows and breakfast to you. Drop us a line at wayne@ideastest.co.uk to find out more and book a session.
The Details
- What: A community-led art project recycling our otherwise wasted nocturnal emissions into a highway of thoughts.
- Who: All residents living on or near the A2 in Faversham, Sittingbourne, Rainham, Gillingham, Chatham, Rochester, and Strood.
- The Mix: To give the highway maximum structural integrity, the mixer requires four parts dreams to one part nightmare. All nighttime visions are welcome!
