Meet our new Senior Producer, Amy Scott

Joining Ideas Test as the new Senior Producer is Amy Scott, bringing with her over 15 years of dynamic experience in the arts, theatre, music, and live events. Amy’s professional journey is deeply rooted in her passion for the transformative power of the arts, and she has dedicated her career to creating inclusive, impactful, and memorable cultural experiences for diverse communities.

Amy’s artistic roots began with training at the renowned Northern School of Contemporary Dance, subsequently graduating with a First-Class Honours degree in Dance Practice and Performance from the University of Wolverhampton, having received the prestigious Dance X-Change Award for Academic Achievement. Her career has since flourished across the globe- with roles ranging from touring as a professional dancer and musician to producing multidisciplinary arts projects in collaboration with councils, community organisations, and internationally renowned events. Amy’s work has spanned every imaginable space- from traditional theatres to royal palaces, airplanes, playgrounds, zoos, and festivals, showcasing her ability to reimagine how art and performance connects with its audience.

A highlight of Amy’s career has been her leadership in producing imaginative and community-focused projects. Early on in her professional journey, she collaborated with organisations like The Bromley-By-Bow Centre and Kazuum Arts, where she spearheaded outreach programs that brought theater and dance into unconventional spaces, including schools, farms, and community centres. Since then her fun and innovative approach to marketing and understanding of the need to secure funding enabled her projects to thrive despite the challenges faced by the arts sector. As such Amy has regularly secured vital support from private investors and public bodies like Arts Council England to bring arts projects to life for communities around the country.

Amy also lent her marketing expertise to global brands like Google, MTV, and Cadbury through her work with leading creative agency Bearded Kitten, while continuing to tour and perform original music at every major UK festival, including Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight Festival.  Amy’s music has been featured several times on BBC Radio 6 Music, and BBC Radio 2 and was nominated for the Association of Independent Festivals ‘Live Act of the Year’ in 2018. As a DJ, Amy has entertained thousands on the decks from the ski slopes of Austria, to the beaches of South America, and the fields of Glastonbury Festival. Amy sits as an ambassador for the music charity ‘Tonic Music for Mental Health’ and can be found speaking on panels at music industry events such as the Night Time Industry Association.

Amy’s hands-on experience extends to event management and company directorship, giving her an invaluable skillset in planning, budgeting, and leading multidisciplinary teams. Her dedication to best practices, safeguarding, and inclusivity has been central to her work with young people and vulnerable communities. As a COVID-19 volunteer vaccinator, Amy further demonstrated her adaptability and empathy, skills that align with Ideas Test’s mission to enrich the Kent community through arts and culture.

At Ideas Test, Amy is eager to channel her extensive expertise into creating innovative arts programs that engage, inspire, and unite. Her enthusiasm for the arts as a force for positivity is infectious, and she’s thrilled to be joining Ideas Test to help shape the future of their projects in Medway and Swale.
