Let’s light up Luton!

Luton Lights is coming back to Luton Road, Chatham, bringing light, creativity and community together for an evening celebration.

This year, the theme is still to be decided – and we want local people to help shape it. Throughout October, the Ideas Test team will be out and about in the Luton Road area, talking to local residents and finding out what ideas, stories and inspirations could help create this year’s theme.

We’re looking for local residents, businesses and community groups who would like to get involved and help make Luton Lights even bigger and better than previous years. We’re particularly keen to hear from people who would like to have a window display or artwork in their windows as part of the event. The more windows we can light up along Luton Road, the more spectacular the area will become, creating a trail of light and creativity through the community.

There will also be creative workshops throughout early 2027 for anyone who would like to get involved in making artwork for Luton Lights. Whether you’re a confident artist or have never made anything before, the workshops will be an opportunity to get creative, meet other local people and help transform Luton Road with light and colour. Further details about the workshops will be announced soon.

Luton Lights is about celebrating the people, creativity and community of the local area – and we want this year’s event to be something the whole community can help create.
