Murder for Breakfast – A Play in the Cafe

Who says the spooky season has to wait until October?

The Brompton Halloween Team is back this summer with a hilarious, fast-paced, 30-minute interactive murder mystery that will serve up chaos alongside your coffee.

Dust off your leg warmers, tease up your hair, and step back in time to the Medway towns in the 1980s.

The Case:

It’s 1985 in Chatham, and local 80s cop duo Sergeant Egg and D.I. Chips have just been called into Tracie’s Cafe in Brompton. The gruesome discovery? The body of local Medway legend, Dr. Blackpudding.

They have deputised a select group of investigators (that’s you, the audience) to survey the crime scene and help crack the case. Some of Brompton’s most eccentric 1980s residents are currently under suspicion, brought to life through fast-paced multi-roling by the actors. Expect rapid-fire interrogation, chaotic comedy, and plenty of retro, aviator-wearing, shoulder-padded 80s cop show attitude.

Dress Code: Total 80s! 80s dress-up is HIGHLY encouraged!

Whether you want to rock a neon shell suit, channel your inner Miami Vice detective with a pastel suit and loafers, or just bring your best 80s denim, we want to see it. There might even be a prize for the best-dressed sleuth in Medway!

You Decide the Ending:

Think you have cracked it? At the end of the investigation, the audience will vote on their prime suspect, and the murderer will be revealed.
