Unravel and Unwind with the crafty folk

Unravel and Unwind is the project of Faye Brown, who began crochet at the Craft Cafe in All Saint’s Children’s Centre in 2013. It was there that the idea of a full time crafting drop in centre began to form.

To test the idea, Faye ran craft flash mobs throughout the early part of 2014 and their popularity led her to set up the permanent drop in centre at Intra, 337-341 High Street, Rochester. For details of upcoming workshops, click on the image to enlarge.

In addition, there are now three regular café meets: every Tuesday at Nucleus Riverside Hub, Military Rd, Chatham from 1pm to 3pm; every Friday at All Saint’s Children’s Centre, Magpie Hall Road from 09:30 am to 11 am and fortnightly on Saturday’s at Tiny Tim’s Tearooms, Northgate, Rochester from 4pm to 6pm. Knitting for beginners begins on 12th March in Cuxton, for 6 weekly sessions, and there are talks with more cafes in Rochester and Cliffe Woods.

Cafe and workshop attendees have been generous with their praise for Faye. Workshop attendee, Helen, said:  “Thank you Faye from Unravel and Unwind, for the excellent beginner’s Crochet course today, you are a really patient and fantastic teacher. I learnt a lot; just hope I can remember it all! The course was excellent value for money and the things to take home were the icing on the cake.” Fellow crafter Vicky, said: “Thanks for the great tuition yesterday at the beginners’ workshop.”

And an un-named cafe attendee said simply: “Thank you so much for getting me out of the house.”
