The Forum – What? Who? Why? Where? When?
With the support of Arts and Homelessness International and following their successful forum model, Medway has started its own Arts and Homelessness Forum. Ideas Test has taken on the administrative role of coordinating the meetings. Forum members are central to shaping the meetings, sharing information and discussing/developing projects in response to the interests and aspirations of local people who have and are experiencing homelessness.
What?
A safe space to explore and co-create opportunities for creative expression – building on existing assets, talents, skills, experience, expertise, knowledge and ideas. The forum provides freedom of expression within the framework of a meeting.
NB Co-creation means ‘doing’ together – everyone taking part is equal in terms of creativity.
Who?
Representatives from service providers; arts and creative organisations/individuals; the local community with current or previous experience of being homeless.
Why?
To be properly inclusive and develop activity with the community, not just for the community. Put something together that will make a real difference.
Where?
Pathways to Independence, 25 Victoria Street, Rochester ME1 1XJ – Bus fares for unwaged attendees can be reimbursed.
When?
Last Friday of the month 2-3pm (except in December when the date will be a week earlier)
And finally – £10 voucher available for unwaged attendees and up to 3x show and tell £10 thank you vouchers available.
