The Sittingbourne branch of our youth group began their Flashmob Project at the Soup Festival, performing in the market Square on July 12th. Nervous at first, they thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being involved in such a wonderful day in Faversham, and even had time to visit the Nautical Festival too. They’re now taking what they learned from this first event and using it to inform their main flash mob musical performance in Sittingbourne.
There have been six applications made by young people from the Impact group so far, and four have been accepted by the panel: Two from Medway, one from Sheerness and one from Sittingbourne.
It was good for the group to know that they have the same opportunities without receiving any special treatment. The quality of their ideas are good, with ideas varying from music, film, stencil art and dance.
The group are currently designing a logo to go with the Impact name, and one member was on the decision panel for the family festival applications last week. There is also a member on the Ideas Test Consortium panel, ensuring that our young people will indeed be having an ‘Impact’ for some time to come!
