After four years as the Director of Ideas Test, Lucy Medhurst will step down from the role as of 31st March 2022.
This news follows the announcement that Ideas Test will receive continued support as a Creative People and Places (CPP) programme as part of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio from April 2022. This is a major milestone for our organisation that brings with it significant funding so that we can continue to grow and bring more ambitious and community-focused work to Swale and Medway. We will carry out this work with the leadership of a new full-time Director.
“I feel this is a good time to stand down and create the opportunity for someone with the passion, energy and drive to lead Ideas Test over the next stage of its journey,” says Lucy. “Ideas Test is supported by a brilliant staff team, Board, Consortium and community members and works with inspiring artists to bring great work to the area. With NPO status and as part of the family of CPPs, this is a very exciting moment to be joining the organisation.”
“Lucy has done an amazing job at Ideas Test over the last four years,” says Jatin Patel and CJ Mitchell, Ideas Test co-chairs. “She has provided strong and inspiring leadership, forging productive partnerships, gaining charitable status and novation of the Creative People and Places grant to the new charity, establishing an array of new programming strands and raising funds to place the company in a prominent position in the cultural landscape of Swale and Medway.
Ideas Test’s mission, programmes, community relationships and organisational structure have all been brought to a place where the organisation is ready to develop our positive impact further with the support of our NPO status.”
But it’s not goodbye forever. Lucy will continue to work with the organisation in a freelance capacity as well as on other projects.
Announcement of a new Director for Ideas Test will be made in due course. Those interested in applying for the role can find more information here.
