Kent Creative Live – next Meet Up

Kent Creative Live would like to invite you to their next Meet-up funded by Ideas Test.

photokcl3“Myth & Culture In The New Paradigm.” Is the talk by poet, visual Artist and mythographer Bill Lewis, who will speak about the importance of Myth, Storytelling and Magic. Bill is an incredibly engaging speaker who will captivate you and leave you both challenged and inspired.

The Member Slot is Collaboration for Creatives: The value of joint proposals and bids, with Fay Blair. Fay is increasingly asked to provide ‘critical friend’ advice and support those wishing to combine the arts, heritage and culture, with environment and community wellbeing in creative and innovatory ways. Even if you are a very small creative trying to become established, then perhaps being part of a ‘bigger picture’ working with others will help get you on the map.  Fay will give some examples of work and indeed highlight opportunities for teaming up so you can get some ‘irons in the fire’.

Another extremely useful workshop from the Kent Creative Live team is How to crowd-fund with Crista Cloutier, which will take place on 11th July 2014.

This workshop was originally run in Canterbury in March, and due to demand is being run again, this time in Faversham.

“It begins with an idea, and then a need.”

Crowd-funding is fast becoming one of the most popular ways for creative entrepreneurs and artists to raise money. But is it as easy as it sounds? What is involved in a crowd-funding campaign? In this workshop Crista Cloutier discusses the how-to’s of crowd-funding as she shares the challenges faced and success reached during her own recent online fund-raising campaign. Workshop participants will leave with an action plan ready to put into place.
