The Trussell Trust has a list of food banks throughout the UK, including Medway and Swale and how to you can access them.

You can also donate money to The Trussell Trust so they can continue their work.

Jack Monroe is a cookery writer whose website, Cooking On A Bootstrap has hundreds of low-cost recipes that appear in their books for free.

Many of the recipes are suitable for vegetarians, vegans or are gluten-free.

There are even recipes that use ingredients from tin cans.
