About Xtina Lamb & the Sea Plastic Songlines exhibition.
Xtina Lamb is well known for her fine printmaking and for running workshops and open access printmaking at her artist led organisation INTRA in Medway.
Recently she was commissioned by An Lanntair and The Glasgow School of Art, in collaboration with Ionad Hiort (St Kilda Centre), to make a new public artwork on the route between Stornoway and Uig on the Isle of Lewis.
The Songlines project will form part of a cultural trail linking Stornoway with Uig, the site of the future remote-access St. Kilda Centre, Ionad Hiort.
Xtina takes sea plastic waste washed up onto shorelines and, through shredding, cutting and melting together, creates artworks that reflect the beauty of the landscape of Scotland.
