Try New Things – Sadie Hennessy’s Lockdown Collage Club
May 31 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Try New Things is our monthly creative workshops where you can try something arty, have fun and discover new talents!
Due to current events, for the next few months, all our sessions will be free and online.
This month’s session is Sadie Hennessy‘s Lockdown Collage Club.
Join collage artist Sadie Hennessy as she guides you through the various stages of making a museum-style display case, full of butterflies.
This will be made out of an old cereal box, or similar, and the butterflies will be created from paper scraps and other little decorative items, such as buttons and beads, from around the home.
What you’ll need:
- A cardboard box (shoebox or cereal size).
- Black paint.
- PVA glue.
- Paper (any colour).
- Paper scraps (eg: Old magazines, wrapping paper, postcards or photos).
- Decorative things (eg: buttons, beads, glitter, sticky gems or nail varnish).
- Wire, matchsticks or wool.
This project can be done by all ages. The end result will be an attractive 3D artwork to put on your lockdown mantelpiece.
Sadie’s film will go live on our Ideas Test YouTube channel at 11 am (BST) on Sunday 31th May 2020 where you can either watch live or watch later at a time to suit you.
Sadie is an artist who works with 2D & 3D collage and printmaking and makes art installation and public art.
