Record Revelations: Michael Jackson – Thriller

10th March 2018 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Record Revelations is like a book club…but for all vinyl fans and music buffs!

It’s about uncovering classic albums, some recent and some legendary.

Every month, music fans (like you) get to listen to a famous vinyl record in full at No.34.

This month album the most successful album of all time from The King Of Pop – Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

Produced by Quincy Jones and released in 1982, Thriller not only had the iconic music video of the title track, but included hits such as Billie Jean, PYT and Beat It.

The album also features The Girl Is Mine, a duet with Paul McCartney.

You can hear Thriller in full from 10.30am, where you can also talk about the record’s history, share your personal memories, review the album (if you’ve never heard it before!), and unearth links to wider popular culture – such as who’s used samples of the tracks to bands and artists who’ve covered the songs.

It”s a great way to spend a Saturday morning – perfect for all music, retro and pop culture fans.

After Record Revelations you can try and emulate Michael Jackson yourself in our Live Looping sessions, which follow straight after at 1pm to 2.30pm.

At Live Looping you’ll create new music inspired by, and using samples from Thriller.

Record Revelations is in association with RPM record shop, based at 51 High Street, Sittingbourne – directly opposite Ideas Test.
