Arts charity, Ideas Test has both a Board of Trustees and a Consortium to oversee what we do as an organisation.
All our major decisions go through our board and consortium as a way of holding us accountable.
Board of Trustees
Our Board of Trustees is made up from a diverse group of people from across Medway, Swale and North Kent.
They have a wide range of personal and professional experiences and an interest in both arts and culture, community, and the area of Medway and Swale.

Jatin Patel is a fashion designer and Creative Director of Rochester-based Kalikas Armour. The brand offers bespoke commissions along with international collaborations, utilising creativity and artistic expression to open dialogue for impactful change.
Jatin's experience includes lecturing and teaching as well delivering creative projects in underprivileged schools. Currently, Jatin is champion of the Spaces and Places working group for Creative Medway.
Chatham born Ally is a freelance journalist, digital strategist and writer.
She writes about lifestyle and culture for titles including Stylist and Refinery29, has appeared on radio and podcasts talking about mental health and body image, and is currently working on her own creative writing projects.
Ally's also a keen film fan, British Champion in savate kickboxing and a Samaritans listening volunteer.
Jane has been CEO of Medway Voluntary Action, the infrastructure organisation supporting and representing Medway's voluntary sector, since 2013. Prior to this, she worked in Further/Adult Education both as a manager and teacher specialising in adult literacy.
Jane has also led on a number of national education developments including the Skills for Life Strategy from 2001 to 2010.
Rob is an experienced finance leader, having held senior roles in a range of travel and professional services organisations, including Virgin Atlantic, KPMG, Opodo and the Daily Mail Group. He has worked with both SME and larger businesses, as well as several start-up businesses.
Rob is also an ambassador of child.org, a Kenyan based charity, supporting vulnerable children and single mothers.
Rebecca is a Kent-based producer and business owner, working to elevate experiences through events. Since studying at UCA, Rebecca has worked her way from event assistant to business owner, opening The New Black Studio in 2019.
Rebecca’s success includes features in The Times and Cosmopolitan and involvement in high profile events including the National Portrait Gallery Gala and UNICEF Halloween Ball.
After relishing his experience as one of Ideas Test's Young Producers for BLINK, Sam enjoyed his role as a Project Assistant for the Theatre31 youth empowerment programme.
He is currently studying for an MBA, pursuing his passion for management, but community building through creative art activity is still close to his heart.
Ideas Test is guided by a Consortium in how we work with communities.
Our Consortium is a group of people, who represent local community, art, health and voluntary organisations from across Medway and Swale.
Together they help us make decisions about supporting our local communities through our events and projects.

Consortium Special Observers
Our Consortium also has special observers that attend the quarterly meetings representing the following councils and organisations:

- Medway Council
- Royal Opera House Bridge
Gurvinder Sandher, Artistic Director, Cohesion Plus who deliver festivals and outdoor performances in North Kent. Gurvinder advises the consortium on issues of community voice, diversity, inclusion and social cohesion through. At a time of increased hate crime and a lack of diversity and inclusion in some of our communities, this role is particularly vital.
