Ideas Test Creative Network

Ideas Test Creative Network Programme is all about helping people move onwards; it’s about developing creative businesses in north Kent, helping people of all ages improve their digital skills, and helping young people access creative media skills in fun and creative ways.

According to the Jan 2016 Digital Skills Report from the Department of Culture, Media & Sport: ‘A shortage in suitable digital skills for digital jobs persists in the UK labour market. This is a major risk to business growth, innovation and broader societal development.’

Learning new digital skills is a great route to developing creativity, confidence, a new career or even changing your job for the better and you don’t have to live in a ‘digital cluster’ to start your own creative business these days.

So what’s coming up? We’ve set up a local developer/designer network for Swale digital workers; we’re running business skills development sessions for all kinds of local companies, and we’re working with Swale Young People CIC led by a local 16-year old entrepreneur to bring together young people who want to start and run their own businesses.

In March 2016 we launched our new Creative Job Club project, funded by the Nat West Skills and Opportunities fund. This is all about helping 18 to 24 year olds in Swale to get work experience and jobs in the fast-growing creative industries. Find out more about the Creative Job Club programme here
