Granary Close, Rainham, Kent ME8 7SG
SATURDAY 19TH APRIL 2014 / 10AM – 6PM
Funded by Ideas Test, this free day of activities is about bringing together the existing groups and volunteers that use the building and showing the local community that this amazing community space is open and available for use. Says Lisa Carpendale, who successfully bid for funding for the project:
“We want to put The Oast House Community Centre back on the map and prove that Rainham should become a home for the arts in Medway and Swale, widening the focus beyond Chatham and Rochester.
“This day will be about raising awareness of our wonderful building, fundraising for the charity plus promoting and showcasing local creative talent, performers, makers and artists. We also hope to use this opportunity to source new volunteers to join the existing team.
“As a charity, we need to generate more income to remain sustainable, so this day will also help us to connect with potential funders as well as new community and arts groups who may want to hire rooms within the building. Our long term vision is that The Oast House will provide Rainham with a multi-purpose community venue unlike anything else within the Medway towns.”
