Young At HeArt: Film Club with Swale Film Society

Calling all film buffs!

Young At HeArt, our programme of events created for those aged 55+, will holding another FILM CLUB event, hosted by Swale Film Society, at No.34 on Tuesday 8 August between 2pm and 4pm.

This time our film is The Lady In The Van starring Maggie Smith.

Written by acclaimed playwright Alan Bennett, it tells the true story of his interactions with Mary Shepherd, an elderly woman who lived in a dilapidated van on his driveway in London for 15 years.

If you have a suggestion films to show at future Film Clubs please let us know. Past films have included Grease and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

You don’t even have to bring the popcorn – all of our Young At HeArt events are free of charge, and refreshments will be available.

About Young At HeArt

Young At HeArt is a programme of creative activities for people aged 55+ in the Sittingbourne and Swale area.

The project has been created by Ideas Test, Swale CVS and Swale Seniors Forum, and made possible with funding by the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards For All.

Participants will be able to pick and choose from a regular programme of fortnightly events every Tuesday.

Each event has been made for people aged 55 and over who may have mobility or transport issues.

The events range from craft workshops to culture talks, from movement taster sessions of activities such as yoga to movies old and new.
