Theatre Club: ‘Bucket List’ at The Brook Theatre, Chatham
21st April 2017 @ 7:15 pm - 10:30 pm
Why travel to London to see theatre when we’ve got top performances right here in Medway and Kent?
We are creating a Theatre Club for people who live in Medway and Swale to go and see a wide range of productions quarterly. We will meet every 3 months to watch a performance and have a chat about the work, as you would at a book group. If you are interested in joining email firstname.lastname@example.org and I will give you further details about the special club group offers and suggested future programme.
We are very lucky to be able to start the scheme with a performance by the critically acclaimed and award winning Theatre Ad Infinitum here at The Brook Theatre Chatham as a part of the Paint the Town festival on 21st April. The piece is a powerful story of one Mexican woman’s fight for justice.
When her mother is murdered for protesting corporate and governmental corruption, Milagros finds herself with only a bloodstained list of those responsible. Determined to make them pay, she embarks on a passionate quest for justice, no matter the cost.
A story about love, loss and revenge, told with physical storytelling, live music and song.
Please be aware this piece is suitable for ages 14+ with some adult content. You can see a trailer here:
The Times said this is “Beautifully portrayed with wide eyed fury”. The Guardian think that “Theatre ad Infinitum have moved to the front of the pack”, and the Stage say it’s a “Magical tour de force”. What will you think?
If you aren’t already familiar with the festival you may be interested in the other events going on during Paint the Town:
There is a great selection of work for adults and children including play, workshops, networking and panel discussions.
Battersea Arts Centre are working with local festivals to ensure that the most popular pieces they host can be seen by people across the country. In Kent some of the same programme can be seen in Thanet during the Looping the Loop week at the end of April.
