POSTPONED: Kent CLOTH: Walk, Forage & Dye Plants
April 27 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
UPDATE – 30/04/19.
This event has now been rescheduled for Saturday 11th May. You can find out the details on this event listing.
The original workshop was postponed due to predicted bad weather conditions. If you booked a ticket for the original and would like attend on the 11th, please do let us know and we’ll carry over your ticket.
Otherwise, please visit Eventbrite to book your tickets for the 11th May.
Exploring the Park we will walk along the riverside and forage for local plants to create colour. We will use these to create a colour map of Swale.
Throughout the workshop we will be working on ideas for a collaborative hanging inspired by Swale’s rich heritage, and collecting stories, images and drawings as part of the Kent CLOTH project.
We will be developing visuals through mark making, drawing and playing with scale, sun prints and poems.
These images and stories will be collected at the end of the workshop and brought to life by using the traditional dye techniques Hapa Some and bundle dyeing, and exhibited in the gallery at No.34.
