Our Out of the Ordinary project, Art Transmission, is celebrating the end of this unusual and engaging concept with a final event on Thursday, June 26th from 6-8.30pm.
To celebrate and share all three commissions, a free event open to all will be held at the Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway – part of the fun will be in taking the train to the venue! It will be a lovely experience and a chance for artists, community groups and anyone else interested to network and hear about sound art and radio broadcasting. Ed Baxter, Creative Director from Resonance FM, London’s arts radio station will be joining us.
Art Transmission is an experiment designed to inspire community groups to step out of their comfort zones and make new and unique art for the radio. Three artists have been working with three different community groups across Swale: Jim Whelton and The Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway, Jane Pitt and the Minster Golden Gloves Amateur Boxing Club and Kate Chapman and the Sheppey Horticulture Society.
The resulting sound art has been broadcast through the Daniel Nash Monday Night Community Show on BRFM 95.6.
Do join us if you can – book your tickets here and …
